Your garage hits 110°F in July. Your roof costs $800 to penetrate. Your old gable vent does nothing on still days.

Passive ventilation depends on wind. The Zula doesn't — three industrial-grade fans, powered directly by sunlight, push 630 CFM whether or not the air is moving.

How it works

Three steps. One screwdriver. Done in 15 minutes.

1
Step 1: Remove existing window

Pop out your window

A few screws and your existing garage door window comes right out. ~5 minutes.

2
Step 2: Drop in the Zula

Drop the Zula in

The Zula is sized to fit standard window cutouts. Screw in, flip the switch.

3
Step 3: Walk outside, the sun does the rest

Walk outside

The 75W solar panel takes over. No batteries. No wiring. No app.

That's the whole install. No electrician. No roof work. No ongoing costs.

Zula vs. passive vents

It's not the same thing.

Most roof and gable vents are passive — they only move air when wind is moving. Here's what changes when you replace one with a Zula.

The Zula

  • Powered by sunlight — moves air even on still days
  • Drops temp 20–25°F vs outside
  • Installs in your existing window cutout
  • Pest-proof — fans actively deter birds & insects
  • One-time $299, zero ongoing cost
  • 15-minute DIY install, screwdriver only
  • 80,000 hours of operating life

Passive roof/gable vent

  • Wind-dependent — dead air on still days
  • No measurable cooling effect
  • Requires roof penetration ($400–800 install)
  • Birds nest, insects enter
  • Risk of roof leaks for years to come
  • Professional install required
  • Replaceable parts wear out

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Will the Zula actually keep my garage cooler?
Yes. The Zula keeps garages 20–25°F cooler than outside temperatures by continuously circulating air. It's not an air conditioner — it doesn't refrigerate — but it actively replaces hot, stagnant air with fresh outside air, even when there's no wind.
How hard is the install really?
If you can use a screwdriver, you can install the Zula. Pop the existing window out, drop the Zula in, screw it in place. The unit is sized to fit standard garage door window cutouts (21" × 14.5"). Most installs take 15 minutes. No electrician, no roof work, no wiring beyond connecting an on/off switch.
What if there's no sun? Does it stop working?
The Zula runs while the sun is hitting the panel — which is exactly when you need ventilation most (hot, sunny days). There are no batteries to maintain. On overcast days, it operates at lower output. At night, when the sun isn't a problem, the unit rests.
Can birds or insects get in?
No. The Zula's small fan openings are screened, and the moving fans themselves actively deter birds from approaching or nesting. It's significantly more pest-resistant than a passive gable vent.
How loud is it?
64 dB-A. That's about the volume of a normal office conversation, or a quiet dishwasher. From inside your house, you won't hear it at all.
Does this work for sheds, barns, attics — not just garages?
Yes. The same unit replaces gable vents on sheds and barns, and can be installed in attics without roof penetration. It also works for greenhouses, workshops, chicken coops, and other remote structures. As long as there's a 21" × 14.5" cutout (or you can make one), the Zula fits.
What's the warranty / return policy?
Ships in 1–2 days guarantee — install it, run it, and if you're not satisfied within 30 days, return it for a full refund. The unit itself is built to last 80,000 working hours.
